About this work
Reflection in Bloom is a self-portrait about identity, memory and personal change. The woman looks at her reflection, representing a past version of herself. She is surrounded by flowers, each carrying a different meaning connected to emotions, memories and different parts of the self. The red peony at the centre symbolises transformation and emotional strength. I painted the work in oil, using expressive brushwork and strong colour contrasts to create a personal and emotional image.
