This is the head piece of a series of artworks that press the limits of human recognition, created for my body of work when I graduated two years ago. This piece also presses the matter of what the current world deems quality to be.
In the world we live in today, quality is no longer defined by the artwork itself, but by its resolution . How much definition the image has, how many pixels make up the full piece.
This is what drew me to create these works. Pixellated versions of infamous artworks from the past, hand drawn in coloured pencils with micrometer accuracy. The largest work of them all, this one, was destroyed in transport being returned to me after it was submitted, not by my own cause, so at it sits, it now only exists digitally.
Terminator 1889

A huge metal arm. My plan was to make my arm in metal but I have forgot to include the joints of the hands into the calculations, so everything had to....be made bigger.
The main pieces are industrial left-overs. A collar from a chainsaw motor (I think), a hose coupling and an old carborator from an east german motorcycle. Plus a few old type writer parts (most of the black bits).
The brass and steel parts are all selfmade, on my puny lathe. Cut out by hand, filed and sanded down by hand.
There is a mechanism that enables you to tilt the hand a bit. The palm gives a nice background-light, so I thought its a cool idea. It snaps in place and a small lever releases the catch and make the hand fold back down.
Total hour count: Around 580 hours total but I am not 100% done yet.
Bell n whistles

Bells n whistles was constructed with an open imagination of cycling history and steampunk aesthetics. Utilising two reborn /recycled bicycle frames , along with the addition of vintage cycling boys n bobs, including one old and worn out rider. Soon to be added trike rear axle and trunk.
The Clockwork Aviator

It is made from upcycled materials I got from the local dump and from things left over from my old shop stock, such as spikes and googles. I hand painted a cheap plastic halloween skull and assembled the rest from forgotten treasures.
