International Steampunk Art Prize 2026

Inspired by Professor Elemental’s Nemesis album, I was drawn in by the rich storytelling, memorable characters, and vivid imagery it created. After buying the accompanying comic and falling in love with the artwork, I decided to bring the characters into the real world through sculpture. Having previously sculpted Professor Elemental and his faithful companion Geoffrey after attending one of his gigs, creating both hero and villain felt like the perfect way to balance the forces of good and evil! Each piece began with a hand-built armature before being carefully sculpted, baked, and painted. Watching the characters emerge from wire and clay into fully realised figures was incredibly rewarding. As a relatively new sculptor, this project gave me the chance to combine my love of music, storytelling, illustration, and character design into something tangible, playful, and uniquely my own.
