Annual picnic and a staple for Brisbane-area goth, Lolita, steampunk, rockabilly and alternative-style enthusiasts. Free (BYO food), with prizes for best-dressed. Registration required for a wristband. Details via Facebook events.

Abbey Medieval Festival

Primarily Australia's largest medieval event (30,000+ visitors), but attendees are encouraged to wear steampunk, medieval and alternative costumes. Includes costumed reenactors, performances, food and handmade stalls.

CapriCon Steampunk & Pop Culture Convention

Queensland's largest single-day pop culture event, with cosplay, special guests from TV, film, comics and gaming, and a strong steampunk presence. Family friendly across all fandoms.

Showcasing prop makers, doll creators, photographers, filmmakers, authors, digital artists, painters, visual artists, musicians, performance artists, installation creators, makeup and special effects artists, and collectors.

The convention features stalls, fashion shows, prop-making workshops, the best dark genre/horror tattoo show, and performances. Prizes for best-dressed attendees, but the outfit must be their own creation, not a known character. We want to celebrate the unique creations within Australia; people can wear others' work.
