The September festival pairs a public costume contest with live entertainment and a special Chitty Chitty Bang Bang matinee at Mount Vic Flicks.
Mount Victoria has set Saturday 12 September 2026 for Mount Vic Fest, a town wide day of cinema, fashion, music, food and community activity.
One confirmed attraction is a costume contest at 12.30pm. Entry information is available through a QR code on the festival’s promotional artwork, although the accessible information does not specify rules, prizes or an entry deadline.
Mount Vic Flicks says the day will also include markets, live music and circus entertainment. The cinema has supplied the most detailed part of the schedule: a special screening of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at its Harley Avenue cinema.
Doors open at 1.30pm, with live music before the film begins at 2pm. A theatre organ performance is planned for the interval, and the listed finishing time is 4.45pm.
For costume makers and admirers of improbable machinery, the order is unusually neat: costume contest first, inventor’s flying car second.
Mount Vic Flicks lists tickets at $20 and $18, plus booking fee, and recommends booking ahead through its Chitty Chitty Bang Bang session page.
